There are lots of Strings and plenty of specialty sets available today. I install Hannabach strings on my instruments. To me, simply the best on the market regardless of price. Warm basses, crisp trebles, and a very balanced sound with good projection. New sets will take some time to play in. LT's are my suggestion for new student's fingers need time to adjust to pressing the strings and sore fingers don't help you practice.
